Summary:
This release delivers updates for KALLO testing configurations, including enabling voice call testing for appropriate devices, improving P25 test reliability and structure, and allowing SIM selection per task.
Revision E20 Devices on previous firmware will stop reporting metrics until updated to v8.3.5 or v8.4.0 as of 2026-03-10.
Compatibility & Upgrade Notice
Applies to: Revision E20 devices (serials beginning with KA-E20).
Delivery method: Automatic OTA update when the device is connected to mobile coverage (or a valid PoE Ethernet backhaul).
Important: Devices with revisions earlier than E20 will not receive v8.4.0 and should remain on the prior firmware.
Recommendation: Ensure device has stable power, remains connected, and is not interrupted during update.

New Features
RRC Event Collection — Throughput tests can now be configured to record RRC events, providing full diagnostic capability to every KALLO.
SIP Message Collection — Voice call tests now record SIP messages for improved voice call status visibility and diagnostics.
P25 Blind Scan — Users may now configure blind P25 scans to return all nearby P25 sites and their relevant metrics.
Enhancements
Improved device diagnostics — Upgraded backend visibility into device status for more thorough status monitoring and improved KALLO stability.
Bug Fixes & Stability Improvements
Fixed an issue where firmware upgrade events weren't being returned via the API.
Fixed an issue where active test intervals were getting reset.
Fixed bugs surrounding blind cell scan reliability and reporting.
Known Issues & Limitations
Daily blind cell scan may periodically return empty cell arrays.
Declined voice calls currently are returned as "dropped".
Devices on versions earlier than Revision E20 are not supported for this firmware and will remain on the prior release.
Some carrier networks may still restrict or block passive RF testing; please verify local network compatibility before relying on this feature.
How to Update & Roll-out Schedule
The update is being rolled out in phases starting 10 March 2026. Most devices should complete the update within 24–48 hours once connected.
If your device remains on the previous version after 72 hours while connected and powered, please contact [email protected] for assistance.
All updates timeout 5 days after being scheduled. If a device is not powered on within 5 days of 10 March 2026, please contact [email protected] to reschedule an update.
