Please note: Customers must provide their own power sources for walk testing unless otherwise agreed. As a guide, a battery pack rated 25000mAh will generally last an 8-hour period in typical use cases.
For additional guidance surrounding the CERNO User Interface,
1. Power Up
Plug in an external power source, such as a Power Bank, and your CERNO 4.0 will turn on automatically.
Ensure your external power source has enough charge to complete your intended Walk Test.
2. Connect to network
Connect to CERNO 4.0-network on your own device (tablet, laptop etc)
Open browser (preferably Google Chrome) and type 192.168.10.1 into browser address bar
3. Open a map or floorplan
See: Uploading Floorplans
4. Insert relevant SIMs into CERNO 4.0
When inserting, ensure SIM card chip is facing towards the back of the CERNO module.
5. Configure
Ensure CERNO 4.0 is configured to suit the specific Walk Test.
If your CERNO 4.0 has been pre-configured, check that Band Locks, Channel Locks, and Scripts are set correctly.
Otherwise, see: Configuring the CERNO
6. Set names for relevant HEMs
7. Set start point
Stand in an identifiable location. Toggle to the pan button to pan across the map to match your position on the onscreen floorplan.
When the button is white, it is ready to start recording.
When ready to commence recording, tap white Start button, which will turn red once recording has commenced.
8. Start a walk test
Toggle to the Pin button and tap on the map or floorplan at your current location.
This will place a blue marker. Press the Check button and begin walking.
โWhenever you change pace, direction or reach a new landmark (doorway, corner, antenna, etc.), tap the screen and press the Check button to place a new marker.
The initial marker will turn green once it is confirmed.
A line will appear between previous markers and new, confirmed markers.
TIP: The Cerno is constantly recording samples in between the very first marker and very last marker of each log file. Samples are evenly distributed between the last 2 markers placed. Therefore, for best results when performing a Walk Test, always try to walk at a consistent pace. If you need to stand stationary for more than a few seconds, place a marker when you stop, and another marker directly on your previous marker when you begin to walk again so that all samples while stationary are allocated to the same area on the map.
9. Finish walk test
Once the location has been sufficiently tested, or if you need to pause, click the red button to stop recording.
